Default Winters Tire 2 wheels vs 4 wheels

I am planning to get the IS 350 with 4 all season tires, from everyone I have heard, the rear wheel IS 350 is horrible for winter driving and I should get winter tires for it - all season not good enough. I was wonder if it's ok to replace the 2 rears tires instead of all 4 tires.

Four winter tires are best.

If you do the rears only, the fronts may continue to slip, and you may drift while making turns.

jadeboy, if your location tag is correct and you live in Alta, Utah, a town that gets an average of 500" of snowfall a year, I wouldn't skimp on winter tires. In that climate I'd buy a set of four 17" rims and the best snow tires I could find. (Haven't been to Alta in nearly 20 years, but last time skied there I remember a harrowing drive up a steep access road in heavy snow. Awesome conditions when I arrived, though!)

This has been discussed before. If you get winter tires, get a set of four NOT two. Your other option is get all seasons, which IMO is no good. 306 HP on all season tires is kind of dangerous , unless you drive very slow at all times.
