Default Little concerned with my leather seats already.

So I noticed only about after a month of ownership, the back section (where you butt actually touches) of my seat on both driver and passenger side seems rougher and harder to the touch than the front section (where your hamstrings touch). Since I've taken delivery of the car, I've almost always had a passenger with me. Is this wear and tear already or is it designed like that?

Have you cleaned and especially conditioned the seats yet? You should do this regularly to keep your seats in the best condition possible.

Diet and excercise might help with the wear n tear on your seats better

I condition once a month or so. keeps it in tip top shape. Almost like new just some wrinkles here and there. The leather Lexus uses is really soft

I'm only 150 lbs and 5' 8" .

Hmm... I'll try conditioning it. I haven't done anything to the seat yet. Has anyone tried the Leather Care Products Lexus sells?

I got a question about the lexus conditioner/ cleaner:

After applying the solution, Does the leather conditioner make it oily? or is like the factory OEM feel, where its flat and like a matte color?

Also would it work with the dash board without losing the rubbery feel?

The oils from your skin can make real leather softer. Our couch and loveseat are over 17 years old and look better now than they did when we bought them. We bought very good leather. Perhaps where cloth hits more often it's drier and where the oils from your skin touches it's softer??? Even putting your hand down on it to get in can add oils to the leather.

Maybe you should drive "free" for awhile and see how it goes. Just kidding!!!!

^hahah... yup our leather is super soft compared to all other cars.... softer leather means easier to put crease in them... its an eyesore after a few months of owning my car.... the leather on bottom part of the seats are bad and its loose.. normal wear and tear i guess

I clean and condition the car using the cleaners/conditioners that are provided through Lexus (not sure what their original brand is.) The conditioner will not make the leather feel oily at all. In fact it will give it a very smooth feel for the next couple of days. Your clothes will not stick against the seat after you use that stuff (which reminds me: make sure you thoroughly rub that conditioner/cleaner in using a microfiber cloth, the leather should be absorb it.)
Do not use is anything on the dashboard. Please use a lightly damped microfiber cloth on the dashboard without any additives. My car will turn 2 years next month, and I still get compliments about how new it feels inside.
Once a month with this kind of treatment to the leather, and keeping the interior well shaded should allow you to enjoy your car's 'freshness' for years to come! I hope that helps!

I believe the leather is designed that way, the rear part is a little rougher and harder than the front part. Mine is an 08 an is the exact same way as well. I just condition the leather as some have mentioned, I use the Zaino leather conditioner and it works and smells great.

I've got this same problem. I'm 5 10'' 150 lbs. The car has about 20K miles. I clean and condition my seats every 2-3 months. 2 of my other friends have 2gen IS' as well, a 06' and 07' and their seats are fine...and no, I do not have a bony butt =)
I'll talk to my service rep on my 20K maintenance about it...see if I can get that part of the seat warrantied or something because it's A LOT more stiff than my friend's seats.
