Default What do you use on wood trim?

What do you use to maintain the integrity of the wood trim on your IS? So far I've only wiped down my bird's-eye maple with a dry microfiber towel, and the occasional mild soap and water moistened micro-fiber towel. Should I do anything more to protect the wood? It seems to have a coating. Ideas welcome.

My two previous cars were pre-owned Mercedes C Classes and over time the wood grain in the center console developed slight cracks. I don't want this to happen since I bought this car new and love it much more!

I use to just use a dry microfiber towel, but then i bought the center console from aerotect! It hides any scratches and you can barely notice it! Well, worth the price!

Agree ..... Plexus and a soft MF towel will hide any micro swirls you may have on the clear coating. I use Plexus on the inside of the tinted windows. Great product.

Check ebay for "IS250 carbon fiber" and you will a guy selling them for 280 +shipping. I think there same ones sewell was offering with the GB, but the GB is done for now.

i just got that kit from ebay and it is nice. The only thing is there is no adhesive, so i have to go to home depot for some double sided tape. I have the wood trim as well and will post pics of the install when i'm done. The fitment is very good, but there are some spots where the wood trim may show through. I'm either going to use electrical tape or touch up paint since i don't ever plan on removing this kit. It does appear to be the same kit as on the group buy, came in the same styrofoam container.

Yeah I have seen those already, I like them. but when he said overlays I was guessing they were like the overlays for the headlights. Someone mentioned to put electrical tape down first before the carbon fiber so you don't ruin the wood, thats the stuff I am looking for.

O hello I see those kits are just put on by double sided tape and go on top of the fac. wood. I thought they were full replacement parts. Wow I love these the more I look at them.

No there not OEM, but i guess its very close. Anyways go search on the forum and you will seee some members who got it from the group buy and it looks good and as others has said, the CF looks like its OEM.

I would like to get the kit but i dont see 280.00 for overlays to be reasonable because im not 100% on having CF over the wood.
