Why assume 'old' lady??? Stuff like this happens with all age drivers, in fact more likely with young, inexperienced drivers. Probably like yourself.

when someone hit me, I ask their insurance company send an appraiser out and estimate the cost for the repair. Then I take my car to my friend for an estimate for the repair. If the estimate of the body shop come up lower, I will ask their insurance company just cut me a check base on the report that they have. And I just let me friend do the job and keep couple hundred dollars.

I did this a lot of time already, including my own case and my family, as well as my friend. All work out ok. And if that your fault you can use this way to work with your own insurance as well.. Sometime you will save enough to cover the deductible.

not at all.. the one who told me how to do it is my insurance company. They said you can go through us, and we claim for you or you can deal with them directly, and they taught me how. And which I heard some people will get the check and never fix their car when they have an old car......

Wow!!! Like everyday when I get on the forum it seems like someone gets into an accident. I guess they weren't kidding about every 30 seconds in the U.S. there is an accident?! Or something like that. Can't really remember. It was an insurance commercial.

how can it be fraud? My question is, I didn't ask someone to over estimate the cost to fix it. The cost is from the appraiser that send by the insurance company. I didn't pick it.

Thanks everyone, I just really hope they can match the paint. I'm almost regreting getting GFM now. If they absolutely can't match it, then Lexus is definetly getting my car back after the lease is up.

So sorry to Hear this. I took my GFM to a Lexus dealer body shop and they matched it pretty good. The pics are here. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=302377
I am still trading mine because it had major damage and had to have the fender cut off and replaced.
