My car do that as well when outside is cold(start from higher rmp). But it is normal. And I think all the newer car do that same. That's include all of my Lexus and Toyota.

i have had a similar problem but what mines doing is wanting to take off...rpms are upwards of 2, but when i put the car in neutral the car acts fine? i was thinking it was the trans or some kind of communication problem with the drive by wire? this is interesting to here. im not suffering on gas mileage. i plan to take it in soon to see what they say. i would try another dealer also to see what they say.
maybe the cold and other things are also playing a role into this? shouldnt be that low unless you have a heavy foot when driving. i do agree with others you will have a tuff time over MPG to get it classified as a lemon.
keep us posted please.

12 mpg ? ... lemon that sucker! Seriously, unless you are taking trips of five minutes and less for the entire tank or racing that is way too low. Find out the law and what you need to do and start the process.

Unfortunately, a car can't be declared a lemon just because you're getting bad gas mileage.
You're in MI, and its january. I think the low mileage and high idle are related to weather conditions.

I was loud about complaining about my Gas mileage. 9500 miles at an average of 17mpg. But I drive short drives as you can tell when I say I’ve had it for 2 years. But I drove up to Seattle last weekend for the Seahawks game and averaged 69 mph with a tank average of 25mpg. I was happy with that and think my car is fine now.
But ya, you can’t lemon a car for gas mileage. Im also guessing you have an IS350... if you are that bent on gas milage, why did you guy a 300 hp car, sounds like a Prius would have been a better choice.
My S2000's would get me 9mpg on the track and I wasnt complaining.
