Well, after an 8 month wait (just shy of normal term for birth), I would like to announce the arrival of a 3,455 lb. car. It's a IS 250 6-Speed in Matador Red Mica with cashmere interior and Navigation, Premium pkg. which included the 18 inch Summer Tires. Because of the long wait for the arrival of our little one, we negotiated a clear bra, window tinting (to be done next week), and clear mats. Because we were moved to a 2008, we got the new wheel finish, the lights have an auto leveling feature, black carpet, and my favorite, a coin holder!

When we paid for the car, we had fun pulling out of Taste of Lexus coupon. The guy actually had to go find out how it worked because we were the first people in the 5 years he worked there to give him one! They then gave us a small box of Norman Love chocolates. I told him that one box was for 4 months, and that we should get two for 8! He didn't budge.

The car drove beautifully. My techy son enjoyed the navigation. He even just asked Dad if he could go down to the store with him just now. This picture is taken in front of our parents house. Of course we stopped by to show both sets of parents. They're very excited to actually see a car too! It was a cloudy day, and it was the first time that the sun peaked out since we got the car so I snapped a quick one. There will definitely be some more to come.

Isn't she a beauty? I think I'll soon forget my labor pains!

BucBaby, congrats on the birth!!! Are we invited for a virtual ride? I've got Louis Armstrong's "It's a Wonderful World" for the CD.

Very Nice! congrats on the new car. Been reading your birth since the beginning. Make sure the tint is ceramic on all the windows not just the sides.

Congrats again!

Finally... Enjoy the new arrival..

You got it on 1/12/08.... Does the VIN plate say built 12/07 ?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's a GIRL!!! ??

I just washed mine after 4 weeks... between overtime and rainy days my car has been taking a beating as my daily commuter..

It has 5,600 miles, overdue oil change, a chip on my rear wheel the size of a lentil and one on my passenger side fender edge next to my hood.. (same size)

awwww shes almost as beautiful as my car. haha just kidding. Yours is just as nice, i really like the red color. congrats!
I remember the first time i drove my IS, i sped off the parking lot, i didnt test drive it but i drove a 250 and so i kinda pushed it and then BAM i left the lot with a trail of smoke. Ok ok maybe not the smoke but i didnt kinda scare the people standing in front of me. Its been 3 weeks for me and i have 3 rock chips and a few scratches with only 1k miles, im due for service new week. Oh yeah be careful of garage doors(i ran into one)

Joe Z,

I just realized that you had a question mark after "It's A Girl?". My DH just thinks of it as a great car, and I have a closer connection to what I drive. I think it started when my Dad had a little Corvair (we didn't know it was a death trap- Ralph Nadar, "Unsafe At Any Speed"). It was red and as a child, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I remember the day he sold it, I stood on my bed and looked out of the window and waved good-bye with tears in my eyes. Ever since, I've been talking to my cars like they're human. Anyone else do that? I thank then when they brake on time and save my life, and tell them how sweet they look when they're sparkling clean. My other wheels right now is a 2000 Sienna van. I told her that I still love her, as if she just might not start now from jealousy. LOL

Am I alone on this? I've heard all of you. I think not!

Thanks, iKenn. LOL, I'll try to avoid those garage doors!
