Default Texas Guys - What can I expect?

Looking at trading-in the Titan and getting an IS350. How much can I expect to get knocked off the MSRP? With the options I want it comes out to $42,780. So how much do you think I can get off?

Mind you: We bought a GS350 and an RX350 in December as well. And my aunt is thinking about getting an LS460.

BTW, I'm in Houston and going to buy from Westside Lexus. Thanks.

I bought my car from westside (albeit a 250) and they didnt have any 350's in stock about 2 months ago. I suggest you sell your Titan to car max instead. Westside offered me 8k for my Xterra, but I got 9500 at carmax.

depends if the color/color and options you wanted on an IS is on the lot, dealers are far more willing to negotiate when they have the vehicle physically, end of the month helps more

I will say that when I was shopping back in April, 350s were few and far between. One Dallas dealership offered only $1500 off while the other offered a measly $1000 off. Of course I wasn't willing to accept anything other than a Black/Black with Nav, so that didn't help my cause since no dealer had one in stock.

I dont know if times have changed, but it very well depend on what color combo you want and the options you choose. If you are flexible on those things you might be able to swing a deal, especially if the dealer has one in stock.

my original preference was a 07 starfire pearl/black + X package + ML. I was prepared to special order, i sent out emails to houston, san antonio, galveston, dallas dealers, everyone said that would be a special order except for Clear Lake. Clear Lake had an 06 white/black sport package ML, purchased it at the end of the month and got 3500 off, and avoided a 3-5 month wait

email around to all internet sales who knows you may get lucky

Hi GS350, I'm in Houston too, and have recently been looking to buy an IS350 with the same exact config (MSRP = 42780). You should be able to get it down to 39000 pretty easily (quote from Lexus Clear Lake). I negotiated (over e-mail) with Sewell Lexus Dallas a price of about 38.3k for the same config.

I'm waiting a little bit until I have the funds and because the colors I want aren't that common (Black Sapphire Pearl w Cashmere)

Keep us updated. I tried getting some of the dealers here to match the Sewell price I had of 38.3k for the 42780 car, but they wouldn't do it. Let us know how it works out.

Yea, the only reason I want to buy from Westside is that the service is outstanding and they give you 2 years of maintenance for free.

Good luck with them. I had a hard time getting even a price out of them (over e-mail) back in December when I told them the price I had from Sewell. In the end they told me:

"We will not meet nor beat that price. Our market price is higher than that. If you would like to schedule some time to discuss this in person, please let me know. Remember, we provide complimentary maintenance for the first 2 years / 25,000 miles, lifetime loaner vehicle as well as pick up & delivery through our service center. I can assure that Sewell is not providing that for you. Also, think about the time spent. They will need to be priced about $1000 below where we are just to have a comparable transaction."

I never did go in to talk to them, so I'd be curious to hear what you get from them.

Yea. But we just bought 2 cars from them so I think I can work a good deal out of them. Especially if my aunt goes and gets the LS460. Sewell is located in Dallas right?

Yeah, I was just thinking that they may cut you a good deal since you've bought and will be buying so many cars. Sewell is in Dallas, so that's why I was trying to get someone in Houston to match, I had no luck though. Then I decided to hold off for a month before buying, so I'm not sure whether the dealers are more or less willing to negotiate since back when I checked (December).
