How to remove? (the shark fin antenna)
#46
Shark fin does alot more for the car than either spoiler. Makes you look really up to date, even if you don't have satellite radio. Car bling!
Besides, the original question has been answered a couple of times, the same remarks that were made in another thread on this topic. Prolly everything's come up at least once by now.

There is a nut you need to take off before you pull the fin out

sorry for the necrobump guys but i cannot find ANYWHERE how to remove the shark fin antenna. I'm planning to wrap the roof but can't start until i remove the antenna. i read that you have to remove the headliner but there has to be an alternate route.

I remember in a different thread - a forum member mentioned that some person had their shark fin off the bad way in advertently. Went to a generic car wash, it sheared off the shark fin along with some of some parts of metal of the roof! That's going to cost ya!! $$$

heres how i removed mine. i didnt remove the headliner. you need to remove the rear dome light assembly by pull using your fingers to pry it down from the back (closest to the rear window). i had to pull it pretty hard (it felt like it was going to break). youll be able to see the nut that holds the fin about 3inch back. un clip it, unscrew it, unplug it, and there you go.

thanks man. that was actually my first route. i tried removing the dome light but ended up just removing that frosted cover to get to the bulbs and noticed the screw that held in the shark fin. i tried prying the whole assembly out but it felt way tight as if it were going to break so i stopped there. i'll prob attempt this again thursday.
thanks
thanks
