Default HELP: What to use to clean headliner?

First off, I searched to see if anyone had any tips to clean the interior headliner of our cars. no luck

I would also like to say that im an idiot for not taking off the rubber gloves after working on my car and tryin to open the sunroof. I got my ivory headliner dirty in my lexo and the material seems pretty delicate. what is the best product to use to clean dirty scuff or black residue on the headliner?

thanks in advance,
-james

after getting my car back from the bodyshop, i had black scuff marks on the felt part of my a-pillar. i used resolve carpet cleaning foam and it was able to get most if not all of the black stuff off. i just sprayed the foam on the black marks and dabbed the foam with a microfiber towel. i did like 3 applications...

Removing dirt from these surfaces, I have found that WD-40 is an amazing product. Trust me it works. I just spray it on the dirty area and dab up with clean dry rags.

Would it be worthwhile to buy a can of ScotchGard and spray it on the headliner as a preventive measure before we get marks on the headliner??? It probably wouldn't hurt.

I would not Scotchguard the soft felt, it will discolor it. Make sure to use a spot treat product like resolve and blot it out. If you use a shampoo machine or steam cleaner, you will lossen the adhereing glue and it will sag. Plus, you make get water spots. I had removed small grease from my A-Pillar, so it is tried and true. Blot gently!!!
