you had better take them out. I was just pulled over by 2 squad cars, 1 unmarked and a detective for having the blue smt style in my city lights. When they got out of the car they were yelling "do you have any weapons in the car!!!" then they went crawling around on the front of my car looking at the lights. I thought they had mistaken me for some thug and were about to search my car. They had boxed me in and at the same time blocked the onramp from the freeway, causing a 6 car pile-up right beside my door, almost clipping one of the officers with a dump truck. They then told me to pull down, where i was going to to begin with but couldnt because they forced me off the road. Then it took the morons an hour to find the code that states where you cant have anything other than white or yellow in the front of your car. They told me I was going to jail, $500 fine and would lose my license for 1 year. Well the code didnt exact state what they pulled me over for so they gave me a ticket for improper lighting and have 72 hours to remove the lights and have my car inspected by an officer and theyll tear up the ticket. crazy huh?

 

Are you talking about the parking lights in the high beam housing? Or the turn signal amber lights?

Cops in Chicago are roough about that as well. They assume you are a young punk I guess. This is why I have not changed them. Kind of rediculous if you ask me!!!

Nah I think it is the ability to pay for the fix it ticket. The parking lights in the housing has nothing to do with the parking lights. They just come on when the parking lights are turned on. Technically the parking lights are the turn signal, tail lights and side marker lights. If they were blue yes the are illegal.

The ones in the high beam are not illegal. AUbeast you can fight it in traffic court if that is the case.

 

Sounds like those guys were having a bad day. I installed my front licence plate after being pulled over twice and being warned. I haven't had a front licence plate for 4 years. Oh well can''t beat them all the time.

 

I will put mine on if i get harrassed. I have the plate and kit in the trunk. I should register the car in Indiana, they have no front plate and allow window tint (LOL).

i won't say this for all cops because there are some "good" ones out there but i dunno why some feel they could flex muscle and get away with it all the time...
