CONFIRMED. First with LS smart key in all of Hawaii .. WEEEEEEEE.

Its true. sewell Lexus sells the smart key that works ONLY with US Spec Lexus cars built in Canada. In hawaii our shipment comes from Japan - Hence why our vin numbers start with JTHB. After 2 weeks of wondering why this wasnt working I was talking to a master technician and asked him since they were made in different places and the FCC ID code on the back of the keys were different; could the keys be using different freqs? The answer??.. "Oh yea it seems that way doesnt it". After further information gathering I decided to get the Japanese spec Smart key and just try it out. If it didnt work I woulda been screwed for almost $300 but no guts no glory right? witch brings me here. It works pretty well!

I am also talking directly to Lexus HQ to confirm if we not only have the J-spec key bank but if we have the J-spec ECU as well. Doesnt look that way guys but I will keep you posted as I get more info.

Nope Its all japan spec. Not korea spec, Not taiwan spec. J-spec. all Lexus models being shipped here will come from japan. Its cheaper for lexus to import it to Hawaii via Japan then via Canada.
