Found it at the Apple store - low profile power adapter plugs into ipod dock connector & power plug in the center console, audio cable runs between power plug & aux input in center console box. a great solution, for listening 7 charging at the same time, only one cable connectd to the ipod.
That is exactly what I am going to do, if Best Buy ever starts carrying them (I have a best buy $30 gc to burn). I figured since Apple stuff never goes on sale this would be a great thing to get at Worst Buy.

Besides, I need something that works with an ipod touch also.

Whaaa? Do you have more info on this? My 08 IS 350 should be arriving in 30-60 days... is it a dock connector in the arm rest or what? I'll be freaking happy if you're right.

Is there a sound difference if you connect the ipod thru the headphone jack and the dock connector? Does one source sound better than the other?

the audio is better imo. the vol. is constant, and the sound is cleaner

So the sound is better thru the dock connector? Have you tried both options? When you switch from cd/fm to aux, is there a big volume discrepancy? Thanks for your input.

ya i used both. i just like dock connector better. i use a cable form monster that gets u audio out and charges the ipod at the same time. it has the same low profile plug so it fits in our arm rest thingys. also there is a big vol diff, cd's your going to get louder sound at a lower vol, while the aux sound is lower at the same vol.

both? theres a plug that goes into the dock, from there theres a aux port on the dock connector for me to use a male-male 3.5mm audio cable to go into the aux port. and the main wire goes to the cig to charge. its alot like the other ones the guys mentioned here in this thread already

would you happen to have a picture (or link) of the monster cable you are talking about? i'm trying to find it on the apple, bestbuy, and circuit city websites but i don't see the product you are describing.
