Default 19 and 20 inch wheel owners!!!!

Have you guys with 19 or 20's noticed a rough ride going above 80 on the expressway. When I first lowered my car I took it on the Xpressway and it felt the same as stock. Now when I drive on the highway lowered with the new wheels I get this light vibration it doesnt feel like the wheel/ tire balance shake. It feels like the grit of the road is sending a light vibration up it doesnt shake the steering wheel like a out of balance tire would but its definetly enough to anoy you.

try lowering the psi in your tires, should make a difference.

With some of these wheels they are not hub centric, which means at a certain MPH it tends to vibrate. If its not hub centric, order some hub rings and see how that works out.

I've noticed a little more harshness in the ride, due to the lower profile (and much wider) tires. That is part of the deal when you go to 20" wheels. However, I don't have any vibrations at all. You may need to rebalance your wheels/tires, as they may be just slightly out of balance. Just my 0.02

I dont have coilovers. I guess what I am feeling is normal, cause my steering wheel doesnt shake, but it feels like I can feel the grit of the road. I got TOYO proxes on the wheels which are pretty good tires from past experience. I just wanted to make sure others are feeling something different so that I know there is nothing wrong. Thanks for the feedback

i have asanti's on my ride and they were custom for the car and are hubcentric and I still have vibration. I am getting a refund for my money. There should be vibration but only from the road. I get this random oscilating vibration. Not for 5k on wheels. I am going to go with a cast 1 pc TSW wheel. I had alot of luck with them on my g35. good luck

I just got hub rings in and after putting them on the ride is good all I feel is tire on road. I bought my wheels online and I guess they forgot to sent me the rings but after looking at it there was a big gap between the rim and hub.

To each is own:
But all that money for a more harsh ride. What happended to that Lexus peace of mind, comfort, etc. with regard to the drive.

I love the OEM 18'' wheels, sporty, and fits nearly perfectly (OEM) and was the choice on this well thought out vehicle.
I mean, we do not drive a super-car. It is a great daily sport vehicle with Toyota reliability all the way.

Red-outs, scuff plates, tint, etc. Sure, really cool for some and can make sense. But bigger wheels than the already 18''...Ok, perhaps. But then to have to get hub rings or spacers, or etc. to a nearly perfect setup.

Most on this forum should not make that $ decision, but...

Look at the economy, save ur money for family and future.
Do not let forum mod pressure get you!

sirCharles-- your logic is sound... But mods like wheels, suspension, tints, spoilers, etc. are visceral and emotional; most logic goes out the window.

And personally, I'm OK with that. I've seen some striking 19s on this forum that I could easily go for lookswise, but I am unwilling to give up the wonderful balance of ride quality/handling/aesthetics that the OEM 18s give me on my 350.

Modding your car is one of those things that makes sense and makes no sense depends who you ask. My thought on it is this I like the look of a lowered car with nice wheels but on the other hand I dont want my car to feel like crap. At this point I cant feel any major negative changes from my stock setup. The ride is excellentin my opinion and the car handles way better than stock to me is well worth it.
