We didn't have to sign a waiver or anything for the dealer to not put the front plate on out GS350. And we didn't have to when we bought the Porsche before.

i didnt request my mind was soo blown on getting and new car that i forgot. but lucky they didnt drill no holes. they gave me the plastic plate mount which is in my trunk along with my front plate. CA laws are strict about front plate but most luxury cars here dont have them, or a majority. havent gotten anything yet. nock on wood.

I didn't know you needed front plates in Cali. That just goes to show how few cars actually have them haha

This whole topic would go away if Lexus designed a solution that didn't involve taking a drill bit and coarse thread screw to the car body in order to secure a license plate. Honda did a great job with the S2000..See the little plugs on the bumper..pull them off and there are factory holes and hidden nuts to accept the license plate (just like on our rear plates), I guess they are going for he completly clean look for states/provinces, etc that don't require front plates
