"Z",
I went through what you are going through. Here's the deal. Call a couple of Lexus dealership around your area and haggle the prices. Real scenario: Call dealer B and tell them you have an offer from dealer A for $34K OTD(out the door); but dealer A actually offered you $35K OTD. This at least got your price down to $1k. Keep going back and forth with the dealerships. With the economy really down right now, you can get pretty much below the MSRP. Right now, we just pruchased a 2008 250 RWD MT Tungsten pearl/sterling silver with X/Premium package with preferred options for $33,300 OTD. The downside though is we have to wait for 4 months due to special order; also, the color is limited die to the "X" package.

I just got a 2008 IS250 AWD yesterday from longo lexus. It is pretty much loaded:

Voice-activated DVD Navigation System includes:
- Voice-activated DVD Navigation System with backup camera and Bluetooth® technology, AM/FM radio and CD-changer with 13 speakers

Additional Options:
- Luxury Package
- Premium package
- Intuitive Parking Assist
- Headlamp washers - requires Bi-xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
- Trunk mat
- Wheel locks
- Cargo net

I got it for $250 above invoice...which was probalby around 36,XXX. I don't know if that was a good price tho...heh

If I was in the market for another 250AWD and wanted ML and other options not available without a special order in my area,I would call and buy from a region where the dealer gets the car I want and pay the $1500 or so and have it delivered by enclosed carrier to my house.
I wouldn't wait 4 months for any vehicle.

I am looking at a few different options but my MAIN priority is the following

LL Luxury Plus Package
NV Navigation System

If I can get the PS and VN system I will go for that as well..

I want Smokey Granite as my color

Looking to buy in June but I want maximum research done beforehand!

You'll have a hard time getting the Luxury Package and ML on a 250. But you can get Nav with the Premium Pack without too much trouble. MSRP is around $38250 but you should be able to get it for about $33500 if you can play a couple of dealers off against each other. Be sure to e-mail the internet sales specialist and do any end haggling by phone.

DON't go in person to the dealership until you've closed the deal with a credit card - they figure if you're at the dealership, they have you on their turf and will twist your arm to buy at a higher price!

If you're not buying till June there's really no reason to not do a special order and get -exactly- the car you want. Just find a dealer willing to -not- screw you on price for a special order, get it in by March 15, and the car should be here by June exactly how you want it

Why not get a low mileage '06 350 with everything you want for less than a new 250?

I have tried looking for any car with the packages that I want and I just can't seem to find them.

Are you sure that I can get it that low?

If I can get this baby for that low of a price I will certainly be the most happiest IS driver on this goddamn blue earth. I will refer back to you when I am really going to start approaching these dealerships if you don't mind.

Send an email to any dealership you're willing to travel to asking for exactly the car you want. Tell them you are ready to purchase in the next 30 days if you can find the car you want at a price you are willing to pay. Don't tell them how much you are willing to pay. This will let you know who has the car you want.

Call the dealers with the car you want, and ask them what their Internet sales price is. Tell them you don't want to pay that much, and you'd really like their best deal since you are comparing prices on the same cars. it is not impossible to believe you could get the price quoted above.

I did this with my purchase in July of '06. I got more than 10% off MSRP on my IS350 at a time when I was told there were no discounts available. I ended up flying to SoCal from NorCal to pick up the car. Don't be afraid to do a deal from a distance. They don't have your money until you give it to them, and they would be fools to try something shady on someone traveling to pick up a car.

Alright, so I am going to have the following dealerships competing for my order.

Tri-County Lexus in Little Falls, NJ
Ray Catena Lexus in Monmouth, NJ
Prestige Lexus in Ramsey, NJ
Lexus of Englewood in Englewood, NJ
Warnock Lexus, in Whippany, NJ
Lexus of Bridgewater, in Bridgewater, NJ

How does that look for a line-up of competitors? Will it help me get a better price? Anyone have any experiences at these dealerships? This is the first time I am buying a car on my own without anyones help in haggling and all so this is all fairly new. I want the best price!

I need some help figuring out how much I should be paying for the following customizations:

CUSTOMIZATION 1:

IS 250 RWD
VN Navigation System/Mark Levinson Premium Audio Package
LL Luxury Plus Package
PS Lexus Pre-Collision System w/Dynamic Cruise Control
PA Intuitive Parking Assist
CUSTOMIZATION 2:

IS 250 RWD
LL Luxury Plus Package
NV Navigation System
PA Intuitive Parking Assist

CUSTOMIZATION 3:

IS 250 RWD
LL Luxury Plus Package
NV Navigation System

CUSTOMIZATION 4:

IS 250 RWD
VN Navigation System/Mark Levinson Premium Audio Package
LL Luxury Plus Package

CUSTOMIZATION 5:

IS 250 RWD
VN Navigation System
LL Luxury Plus Package
PS Lexus Pre-Collision System w/Dynamic Cruise Control
PA Intuitive Parking Assist

I just need to know where I should start with these sort of options equipped...

This might serve as a great reference to others as well...

Whether you need 350 power depends on what you drive now. If the 250 feels adequate, do not test drive the 350. Order by the 15th or the month or wait an extra month. Negotiate only out-the-door price, including taxes and tags. Keep it as close to invoice as possible. Mine cost $33K for the AWD no NAV + $2K tint/full bra + $2K sales tax. You may be able to get an auto RWD for $34K with NAV + tax, special ordered like mine. Use the search function for ML audio.

There is no way in hell I can afford the IS350 as the IS250 is just barely pulling it through right now. Thats why I am never going to test drive it or get in the front seat of one. Right now I drive a Toyota Camry 2003...
