yes you do have to drill holes.. i believe it was like 3 or 4 holes..its really easy it shows you exactly where to drill...it comes with a blueprint and u can just tape it over the trunk...and it shows you exatcly where to drill.get it from www.lexus-parts.com thats where i got mine..came painted too !

I added some 3M automotive tape to fill in spots where there was no tape. I removed the studs and did not drill my trunk, so I felt more comfortable about it after adding the extra tape.

Ebay and Paypal can be a wonderful thing. I had some paypal money sitting there so I decided to check out Ebay. I found the red-outs for something like $7 precut and shipped. Also I found the painted OEM spoiler from a Lexus dealer service department in TX for $207 shipped. I took it down to my local dealership and had it installed.
