2007 Used Lexus IS250 Price
Hi,
I'm stopping by my Lexus dealership today after work to look at a used 2007 Silver IS 250. It has about 9100 miles on it, a spoiler, and nav package. The sticker price is about $35,000. I told them that's too expensive, they said to come in and we'll work out a deal.
I was wondering if I can get it for $30,000 or at most $31,000. What strategies should I use to negotiate? There's another Lexus dealership that is selling a similar car, but with more miles on it for $30,995. Can I ask the dealship to beat that price? If they can't, I'm gonna walk away?
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Look at KBB.com or Kelly Blue Book. Remember, they will try to tell you this car is of high demand. Let them know you have a couple of places you are looking and also, make up some BS that you are looking for a Acura TL as well (pending they have none on their lot) and use the Horsepower argument. You can buy a brand new 250 RWD in IL w/nav for $35,000. Make sure their is no damage and have a carfax report ran free of chrarge from the delaer. Look for missmatched body color panels in good lighting.

thanks, I'll tell them I'm interested in the G37 and that if they can't make me happy with the offer, then I'm gonna go to the other dealership. I will print the other dealership's car info page and show them to prove I'm not kidding.

What price should I start with? 29k? I'm gonna need to finance most of the payments. Also, do I start by saying 29k or do I wait for the dealer to suggest a price?
I forgot to mention when I spoke to the salesperson on the phone, he said it was expensive because of the Nav system. I have read that the Nav system has really no resale value, probably worth 600 dollars at most on used cars. What can I do to back this claim up?

I just bought a 2006 IS350...yes 350 for 32k, with Nav and Mark Levinson and Sport package with 18000 miles....I also was dealing on a 2006 IS350 and had them down to $30,250. It had Nav, but no Mark Levinson and the Lux package and 28k miles. I liked the lower mileage car better and it was in the right color and I liked the sports package (no wood)...So if you are gonna spend 30k, look for a IS350.

Yeah my 07 250 BRAND NEW cost was $35,400 for Nav, Spoiler, and Premium pkg. Like some have said, you can get a brand new '08 for less than 35k with those same options if you find the right dealer.

Looks like great advice from everyone. Yes, dealers hate being pinned against each other. Most buy cars at the auction for well below (Black Book) and sell well above Blue Book and come up with some nonesense like it cost to recondition and this car is rare.

So even with only 9k miles, I should say nothing over 30k?

Is it possible to ask for free tinting? Not sure if dealerships do tinting?
