Depends if you want performance, comfort, all season or some combo of the aforementioned.
I'm in the performance boat and thinking PS2, CSC3, GSD3 (or F1 Asym, if available) or maybe HTRZ III......

i liked the Dunlops and would do them again. (they were outta stock)
did a lot of research and
the GS-D3's for me are after about 800 miles have felt great. it has awesome wet traction, strong feel, very good performance. It is known to be very quiet but i can still hear them
but it's good.
i am a little biased because i busted a Dunlop on a cheezy pothole when it was fairly new
but just a little more $ as compared to the Dunlops and to me a little quieter but best thing is just better construction (stronger/flangs) and V tread pattern for awesome wet as i have tested a lot lately.
for NY you probably need allseason tires too, but GS-D3 is very very good summer tire

Don't just go buy stuff based on other people's decisions. haha. Sadly, thats what most people do these days anyways. haha.
But yeah, decide what You need, research, and make your own decision. I mean didn't you do that when you firste decided to buy a car? Or did you just buy an IS b/c everyone was buying it then.
Its a sad world. people don't know how to think for themselves anymore.
I don't wanna be too harsh but drive until they're bald? haha oh boy I hope no one actually does that...

imo i think it depends where you drive. here in MD, we get all sorts of crazy weather, and i'm not into switching rims for snow tires and what not. So I went with the Eagle F1 A/S. about 1k miles now. I like them - a little rougher than the stock dunlops but i can definitely feel the difference in handling on wet and dry.
Its nothing anywhere near a summer tire.... but i think its a good compromise.

I'm planning on the GY Eagle All Season's as well. I believe they will last longer than the GS D3's and will handle bad weather much better. I don't drive my car real hard so any loss of dry traction won't make any difference to me.

What is everyone's opinion on the tread life on the Goodyear F1 All Seasons? Discounttire.com rates them 5 stars based on user reviews, but my friend went to get tires and was told the tread life is bad and sold him cheaper Yokohama YK520s instead, which as a 70,000 miles warranty.
Thoughts?

how long did your first set last? my dealer was telling me i needed to change mine at my 15k service and that they would not pass inspection (i had a little less than 15 at the time). they wanted $1200 for new tires, ridiculous.
i went to a tire shop near my house and they told me that i still had a few thousand miles left in them.
