this is the response i got in an email above. so it looks like this is the cover only and not the assembly where you mount it. has anyone had experience taking the shell of a mirror off and replacing it?

thats my thing, i havent taken apart a mirror before so i want to make sure this isnt something that i will have to pay someone to do. i am not interested if this is not a DIY project. my car is leased so it needs to look good and work when i take it back.
