They are mirror covers of the same size and fitment as the OEM part.
There's just a slight buldge on the side from the blinker so it's visible from the rear.

No one has attempted it, including me.
I didn't look carefully but I don't recall an easy way of removing the blinker housing to access the bulbs.
My guess is that it's seal shut to prevent water and such.

I sure like the look of these mirror covers! Kinda wish that Lexus had designed our IS's to have them from day one!

I'll be interesting as to what the design will be like for the '09, maybe similar to the GS?
