Default Exhaust tips? (not hints, the actual TIPS)

So guys,

Heres the deal. Im wondering if i can just purchase the TIPS of the exhausts? because, at the moment, I just cant afford a full exhaust system...but I really would enjoy the LOOK of it, without the sound and little bit increased performance.

So is it possible? maybe the tanabe? Cause the stock tips are kinda weird...they look kinda ugly.

I tried searching the forums, no luck.

thanks

hummm exhausts like tanabe, the tips are built in. like welded onto the muffler. on the stock exhaust u have a tip added onto it. ur best option imo, is going to honda and getting the S2K exhaust tips. i think they look pretty nice on a IS, and they should be real cheap. just swap out stock for those

I believe you could do that. What do you want to change the tips to? HKS?

well, those would require some mod'ding i think. since the stock exhaust is all one peice, u'd have to cut off the stock mufflers n switch it out to those. its like hapa n i said, if u dont wana change ur exhaust n just get look, S2k tips r prob ur best bet. cheap, quick, easy, nice

Aren't there tips for the IS that are slightly longer than stock? Someone was trying to sell them before.

The SC430 would look good on the ISx50, they are larger than the stocks

the s2k tips are longer and bigger, pass... dont bother with tips, start saving your money for a catback OR goto a muffler shop and just swap out the mufflers as it would be cheeper/get the sound you want/a clean look will be the hard part for the shop.

Go to any muffler shop, they should have a decent selection of exhaust tips, will cost you $25-$50 a piece and another $25-$50 to have them installed.

I ordered HKS style tips on a previous car because I did not want louder exhaust, the gains from a full exhaust on some naturally aspirated cars is not worth enough to fork over several hundred dollars.

hmm...yea exactly. The gains are very minimal...so why not just get a muffler with tips instead?

The thing is, I dont want anything that sounds rice...ya know? Something along the lines of the G35 exhaust sound... (i LOVE that exhaust) or the 350Z

You don't have to do the whole muffler, you can just have new tips installed.

Exactly, while the shop has the car up on the lift doing the tips, you could have them modify the mid-section by removing the resonators and replace with straight piping. That should wake up the exhaust enough to make it sound a tad more aggressive with out going overboard...

just a thought, shouldn't cost you more than $150 total.
