Didnt you call the car insurance company and have the damage appraised? Usually they sent a rep to the car's location and assess the damage. Then you would have to go through the insurance company (As I did in my first accident). And I just had to pay the deductable (whatever it is). Then you need to find a place to do the body work that's Lexus Certified. I had $8,000 worth of damage on my car and I only Paid $500 deductable through my insurance and the car got restored. Im not sure in your case otherwise how you would go about fixing it. Good luck!!! Hope everything works out.

Oh no, here we go again.

If you're not at fault you should call the insurance company.

Good luck man.

Not referring to this guy specifically, but does anybody here ever recall an accident being posted here where they were actually at fault? Cuz I'm thinking we might have both the best skilled yet unluckiest drivers in the world... (sarcasm)

I don't recall if anyone ever posted they were at fault, but the "damages" thread is 9 pages long - that's a lot of damages!

How about the poster with the 'sprinkler problem'?? Driving at normal speed and ran through some water runoff and the car flipped by itself, oh wait ...... that was the car's fault.

I remember that... He flipped over a couple of times. To make matters worse someone stole the 3 from his 350 badge at the junkyard.

even if you report to your insurance company n only pay deductible, you are still getting record that your car has been involved in an accident right?

from what I know, this may cause some difficulties in selling your car, esp when u r trading in, coz some dealers won't accept cars that have been involved in an accident

If you got the other person's insurance info and they were at fault then you don't pay anything. It doesn't go on your record either.

Yes your car will be valued less at a dealer because they know what to look for. I would recommend selling it to a "private party" and pray that person doesn't know what to look for.

Good luck.

I was renewing my insurance at AllState today and the lady had my driving history up on the screen. My accident from two years ago (wasn't my fault) did show on her screen....

She said all accidents where the police are involved will show on your record. Now if there was a statement by the officer that shows that you were not at fault, then it won't count against your insurance premiums.

To OP, I was rear ended and the bumper was dented slightly. The dealership quoted me $1200 for all repairs...Hope things go well with the insurance company.
