Default my poor baby had an accident

My poor baby just had an accident.
http://picasaweb.google.com/martin.w...52546432609906

There was stopped car in the left lane, and cars were slowly going around it, so i didn't see any break lights and didn't have any other lane to escape to.

I'm hoping that the frame is not damaged, but won't know until it goes into a body shop. Does anyone have experience with Lexus certified body shops in bay area? Preferably in south bay around San Jose?

I need to tell the insurance company today where to take it to...

I had the same accident on January 20th, and from what it turned out to be, my car is being repaired, with damamges of 19K. I stressed out to see if the fram was damaged, but the tech said that it was not. So from looking at the pictures, your car might be reparable. Well its up to the insurance to decide that.

Is your car like Knight Rider where it decides to do things without driver input? Based on your heading, it seems like the car has a mind of its own!!!! As for frame damage, their are now devices such a lazers which will be able to more accurately detect such damage with precision. I think you will be fine with repair based on the pic. Does not look to bad. Hopefully their is no axle damage.

Sorry about your accident. But from your description it sounds like you ran into the back of the stopped car? Brake lights or not, you have to maintain control of your vehicle. Hope your ride gets fixed soon.

You know all these accidents are horrible. Its a really good thing that no one got hurt. So many accidents within the 3 months that I've been on this forum. Its really amazing that no one on the forums got hurt. It really makes you think that our cars are durable and reliable.

sorry to see your car like that. glad you are okay.

so was the other car stalled or broken down and where you on the expressway? Sounds like the other drivers where not paying attn and there delayed reaction and having an escape left you with no options. hope you and your car have a pain less recovery!

If they were paralyzed or dead, they might take a while for them to post... Classic survivor bias at work here...
