i am aware that on the '06 and '07 ISx50 there was no means of fully disabling the traction control...or so car and driver amgazine says...but that same publication also said that had been changed for '08 and that the traction control can be completely shut off (although it has to be done everythime you start the car)...
so my question is, why on my '08 is350 does the traction control come back on seconds after i turn it off, every single time?

well, if you push it and let go it is different from pushing and holding.
One turns off traction, the other stability....I always forget which is which.

this is all covered in the faq's. Hold the traction control button down till both the car skidding light comes on and the VSC light is also on. You will see two orange lights. You need to hold that button in for around 5 seconds and you will see this happen. The 07 and 08's are the same with this. The 06 you have to do the pedal dance which is also in the search or faq.

So you're saying if i hold the button for about 5 seconds i should see 2 orange lights come on and stay on for the duration of the trip unless i hit the button again? i ask this because i swear i have tried holding the button for at least 5 seconds and have only seen one orange light and once i hit about 35mph it turnsoff...i assume that is the traction control truning back on
i guess i can try holding it longer and report my findings

My question is can you totally shut off the VSC & TRAC at any given time as long as your at a complete stop. Do you have to put it in park 1st or only when you first turn on the car? Please advise I'm thinking of converting my 06 to the 07/08 skid control computer. For the 06 I believe you can only do the pedal dance once you start the car.
