Default WTF is up with the TCS?

I know that there's a pedal dance to permanently disable traction control until the car is turned off, but sometimes I need be able to permanently turn TCS off after I've already left.
So what's the deal with it, after I break traction or hit 30 it automatically enables itself?

Yeah I have an '07 but I have a manual. So I can real just hold it down for x amount of second and it'll stay off? In Lubbock there's a lot of brick roads to get sideways on so I'm just trying to have a little bit of fun

hold it untill the VSC off light comes on. So two lights should be on.

So I was skeptical about being able to simply hold down the VCS button to disable traction control, but wow! i love how car drives/handles now.
