Update Map: YES OR NO?

Have you had any problems with the version you have now? Missing streets or highways? If not, I wouldn't upgrade. And there is no guarantee the missing data will be incorporated in a new disc. The street I live on has been in existance for over five years, and it still doesn't show up on any commercially available navigation systems.

That is correct. Newest versions don't have the ability to override. On the plus side the I AGREE screen automatically goes away after 10-15 seconds.

I've updated mine a couple of times. If you live in an area with a lot of development it's worth it. If you don't it isn't.

glad i saw this thread. I too got the mailer, but don't think it's coupon.
I too was wondering if it was worth it, ...it's pretty rare that the nav is off (or doesn't recognize a street), so it's def. not worth it to me to lose the "overide" trick. Plus, the iPod integration does the "I Agree" accept for me automatically.

my vaistech SLI presses the "i agree" button for me after five seconds. to pay ~$300 to wait 10 more seconds, AND i lose my "override" easter egg?
thanks, but no thanks.

My old Audi came with a first-update-free policy too. I'm disappointed at the cost of the new DVD -- for what they're charging for an update you could buy an entire portable GPS unit, albeit a low-end model.

Yes,
Nav updates are not worth it until 4-5 years down the road. Lexus makes a ton of money on these discs and probably tacks in an hour of labor to simply insert it into the drive. In the Chicagoland area, a major expressway was finished that links to major routes together. No new GPS reflects this change as of Feb 2008 althought the extension was opened in Nov. Not worth the money at all.
