Default V-LEDS 27 LED SMT for city lights installed (blurry phone pics)

Sorry for the blur - my HTC Touch isn't exactly stellar in low light conditions.

Received in the mail.

And installed:

They look better IRL, but they are a bit blue for the OEM HIDs. An upgrade to 8000K perhaps.

WOW 27?! Mine are only 13SMT and 9SMT in the back. Soon there will be 100SMT for the DRLS or something.

Count me in on the 27 SMT. Although LED draws less power than the OEM wedge bulb, does the 27SMT draw more wattage than stock and have a potential harness meltdown?

I'll take some daytime pics when I go to work today. My DRLs are turned off.

What do you run for your DRL? I have Luminics Krypton Ultra whites and have tried the Sylvania Silverstars which are both white at highbeams but are somewhat yellow as DRL.

The only way to have your DRL not be yellow is to use a 9005 LED, but you'll lose your highbeams. If you use a halogen, not matter how white or blue it is, it will always be yellow in the day since it is running at lower power.

Noob Q again....
the 9005 LED refers to which LED bulb? 5SMT? 9SMT? 11SMT? or 27SMT?
and why will our highbeams be lost? I understand its just a bulb replacement..right?

awaiting enlightment...

9005 doesnt refer to the 5/9/11/27 194type bulbs were talking about, 9005 is totally different. the reason you lose hibeam with a led drl is because there is only 1 brightness for the led drl bulb, the brightness you get durring drl, when you turn on your hibeam you'll still have that same drl brightness. so... you dont really lose hibeam in the sense that it wont light up when you switch on hibeam, just that it offers no improvement over the drl brightness.

the reason his 27's have color is... its very hard to capture the color of leds AND hids at nite on a digital camera, im sure the fotogs here could 'shed some light' on the subject
