nav calibration issues...
so my navagation screen seems to be off by about 50ft or so. this is most apparent when i am pulling into my garage and my nav seems to thing i am about 2 doors down the road. to remedy this i have calibrated my nav screen multiple times. i say multiple times because apparently it likes to reset itself. what gives? how can i fis this so my nav displays my actual location?

Is it mission critical if your location is off by 50 feet or so? Does it give you time to make turns when in NAV mode? If so I wouldn't worry about it. It's not spec'd to US Military standards.

Maybe not classified GPS, but it should be good to three meters. 50 feet is more than I'd be happy about.
I have not experienced this issue. How many birds are you seeing with your GPS?

its not that the 50 feet or so is critical. its just annoying and i feel like in a vehicle of this caliber i paid for and expect more. the car is still new around 700 miles. maybe when i bring it in for the 1000mile service to program the key and such i will have them look at it but until then if anyone has nay ideas i would really apreciate it.

Check how many satellites you can see. That will tell you alot about what is going on. If you are not seeing 5 or more, something is wrong or you live in a really secluded place (like a deep valley between two mountain ranges).

Press display. Tap upper left and lower left repeatedly until the diagnostic screen comes on. Tap Menu. Select Navigation Information. Select GPS Information. You'll see exactly how many satellites the system sees on the screen. It should be no less than five if you are in LA and you should see 3D mode at the bottom of the screen. I see 8 satellites inside my garage without issue.

The exact locations are only good if they have been loaded into the NAV system correctly..
For example, my address is about .2 miles off (approx 1,056 feet)
But if you look up my address on any online Map.. they are all wrong too...
So what I had to do is just mark a memory point in my garage and set it as my home destination... it totally comes up as a different address..
I believe 50 feet is acceptable...

I've posted this dozens of times, but it doesn't seem to "stick" in the collective intelligence.
The digital map DOES NOT have specific GPS coordinates for your house. It has the range of addresses on your block, and makes the assumption that they evenly distributed along the route. Since that's rarely the case, you can't rely on the unit to find your driveway.
It should, however, be accurate in finding the intersection of streets.

Either of these methods work. I don't tend to use the parking light method because I can't do it while driving if I am having an issue.
