I don't have the nav, so i'm sporting the stock stereo. I don't know if it's me or the radio, but I constantly find messing with it.

1) The ASL doesn't work right, esp when I get on the freeway.

2) Random is umm, not random! The random button needs to be constantly pressed to get to the next random song, otherwise the songs will play consecutively. Unless I'm missing something?

3) Text doesn't scroll? o.O

1. not sure what you mean by "right," but the ASL won't adjust the volume significantly. There's a bunch of threads about how useless it is.

2. The random is the way it works. I'll give you this one it doesn't make a ton of sense to me either. I use my ipod or the radio 90% of the time anyways.

3. Text does not scroll automatically, you have to hold down the text button.

hey yeah my scroll doesnt work either, the manual says you have to hold it down when u see an arrow next to the little MSG.. but thats obnoxious, why wont it just scroll?

It's a "safety feature"

scrolling text would be distracting.

This from the folks who cripple your nav when you put the car in drive, so not too surprising.

I imaging they figured you'd just be happy with what's on screen at the time... whereas constantly scrolling text would be something that'd distract you.

i'm not sure what to do about the ASL, i notice though that any burned cd's i make often play at low volume through the system =(, not sure if thats what your experiencing, but my max volume isnt that loud when im on the freeway.

i duno about stock but for the navi it works great

Navi works great, random is horrible, and I have never liked the idea of ASL and turn it off.

Random sometimes plays the next sequential track, sometimes it plays the same track again. Not what I want when I put it in random mode, but it is by definition, random. My last car's was a honda and it's stock radio did the same thing. My main complaint about the random is it doesn't stay after you turn the car off.

I've had 2 after market head units that played mp3 that didn't scroll text. I don't know why but that seems to be the way they are designed.
