Default ML Nav Radio Questions....

I have the Mark Levinson Nav system and I noticed when I put a CD in it DOES NOT show the Song Titles or album name, BUT if I switch to an MP3 CD's, then switch back...it shows the song titles...What gives? Then there are iTunes burned Audio CD's and they display the Track names and CD Titles always....ideas?

Many standard CDs don't have the track info on them. MP3s have it in the filename. iTunes includes it in the burn.

There's no data connection by which your CD Deck could download the track info.

You guys dont get it....One time I play it, no song data....if I play an MP3 Disc then play THAT SAME DISC with no song data the first time, there is song data.....So SOMEHOW its getting song data SOMETIMES, but always AFTER it plays an MP3 disc....This isnt a standard CD, its a CD I burned and made SURE there was track and song data on it....In other cars it shows up...so its JUST my car that shows it SOMETIMES....

The question is why is it that Disc A, a regular Audio disc that was burned with song and track data doesnt show any song or track data initially, then I put in Disc B, an MP3 disc, and it shows all the info, then I switch back to disc A, and the info shows as well....if it wasnt there why does it "find" it sometimes and not others?

i have never seen mine display off a burned CD from iTunes. i dont burn mp3 cds so i havent tried that but i can tell you i have never had any song/title/ect...pull up on the info? are you using iTunes? only thing i would try is to burn the CD using another program to see if that works.

intersted to see what others may say...

I am using iTunes, Waveburner, Toast, all have the varying results...iTunes seems to be very consistent, in that it shows all the data (you have to tell iTunes to do it, its not on by default), the other programs, Toast, makes it show with MP3 CDs which is obvious as its in the file, and Waveburner is a Professional lever mastering and CD architect type program...it should be the most reliable, BUT these are the ones that are the most inconsistent. If it NEVER showed the info, OK...but like I said, I was switching discs and BAM, it came up! Then another day, no info...then another day its there..same disc...then I noticed if I played the disc DIRECTLY after playing an MP3 disc, BAM song info....So I am wondering if this is "normal" for the IS with ML, or do I have an issue that needs to be dealt with at the dealer...and since its very intermittent, not sure I can duplicate it there...and they will probably say, "its the way you are burning the discs..."
