Front License Plate?
#17
In NJ it is illegal, but I could care less. I think cars look much better with no front plate. I hate no front plate on my last 3 cars. I got pulled over a couple times in the EVO for no front plate, probably about 4 times in 2 years, which isnt bad really. Only got a ticket for it twice (which is $50).
I dont have it on the Lexus and have not been pulled over yet. I dont think I will be either. It seems I dont get looked at twice by 5.0 in Lexus... it was a different story in a loud blue EVO.

No front plate here in Vegas, currently.
The law used to be "Must have both". Then changed to "front required if OEM mounting provided". This meant if the dealer didn't put on the damn mounting frame, you didn't have to have one.
Now it may not require one at all. On my last new registration they only gave me ONE plate.
Of course, my IS350 was used out of california so I have two holes drilled in my front bumper. Already ordered some bumperplugs.

I didn't have front license plate for the last two years until I moved to NYC 4 months ago ,where I zip-tight it onto the mesh but I still got a ticket last week when the car was parked on the street during the night, ticket time being 01:55AM! workaholic?
I don't even know what to say when I saw the ticket in the morning and I am now considering fighting it but not sure how to, does anyone has any ideas?

They use a measurement threshold and the plate has to be so many inches off the ground. Some jurisdictions may also dictate that it has to be permanently affixed as well. I don't think you will be able to fight this. Your ticket was not for no front plate, but rather improper display I bet? Sometimes, the police have nothing better to do at night. At least it was probably an ordinance ticket?
