so how would one go about removing the L on the center caps to paint the base and leaving the L chrome??

First, you gotta take the caps from the wheel itself. Then you have to cut each individual peg off from behind the cap that connects the chrome L to the center cap. After you paint the center cap, all you have to do is super glue the peg ends on the other side of the cap back onto the center cap... and you're set.

Those would look GREAT in gloss black...color matched to the car.

thanks, but do you have an idea of how much it would cost to get htme painted and if someone has ISP's painted it will be helpfull to post some pics.

About $200 a set....thats what it cost for mine....
