The Lexus rack looks soooo much better than any other rack made for our cars. It really flows with the contour of the roof line, unlike the Thule and Yakima racks that stick way out, and look like $&@t! I'm getting the lexus rack, and I'll modify it so I can use it to carry my surfboards.

Did you get the Lexus racks for your IS? I was going to get one for my surfboards too. (I longboard though, so mine won't fit the 9'). I have a yakima rack and I hate the damn thing, it looks ugly, it is a pain to get off and on, etc. Let me know where you get yours and how much it costs you.
Thanks...

i personally use a yakima rack for mine. but before i put em on i make sure there is no dust or dirt so it won't scratch. Takes 5 min to take off an put back on since they are already set to the car. just clip n unclip. Been to tahoe 5 times this year and no problems or scratches on the roof. I love the traction on the awd. no slippage whatsoever. i went the past weekend when it was coming down and no problem with the snow ect on and no chains. I tried to make some donuts but no go, the trac control takes over and wants me to keep going straight.
Heres some pics from last year.

Yeah it's kinda hard to fit just one board with bindings in the rear seat, depending of course on how long your board is. I've only taken my 350 up a few times but it still sucked. I even put down towels on the rear seat to avoid getting the melted snow on the leather seats. Super ghetto, but had to do it. Forget about putting the board through the pass through, that's just for skis.
