Wink estimate of tire life

hello fellow cl members,

i tried to search for this but couldn't find it.
sorry if it's already discussed...

i know it all deprends on the driver but what is the rough estimate life of our tires? is it 15000miles? (I have 07 IS)
it's seems pretty short even though it's perfomance tires....

can you guys tell me when you guys replaced your tires?
also if different brand, can you recommend some good tires?

thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you have the Bridgestone Turanza ER33's. I've heard from 15k to as much as 35k but the general consensus is around 15-20k miles.

I have 10k miles on my stock tires and they are about 50% tread left. Most people here would recommend the Michelin PS2 as good replacements (pricy though).

DO NOT GET TURANZAS! They are less expensive than PS2's, but if you don't need/want extreme performance, there are far better choices than turanzas which will likely be cheaper.

What type of tires are you looking for? All season, summer performance, touring?

Most people seem to think the GY F1 All Seasons are pretty good, or the Michelin Pilot A/S. Either will likely be a few hundred less than the crap turanzas. Try a search for A/S tire recommendations or check out reviews on tirerack.com.

There are variations of the potenzas, some seem to be better than others, but all are fairly well regarded (with some reservations).

I replaced my original tires with GY Eagle FI A/S and love them. $150.00 front, $204.00 back. They ride equal too or better then the Dunlops, and I expect to get 40k miles on them. I got 25k on the Dunlaps.

They are much better then the originals in the rain but a little more slick on dry pavement, but not bad at all.

I have 15k + miles on my stock Potenza and I honestly think I'll get an additional 15k miles or more.
