I never bought those numbers. R&T editors collectively have the I.Q. of a grapefruit. Most of what they write is bad and when they attempt to be clever, aye carumba. They tested an Audi A3 and got a worse slalom speed than a Dodge Sprinter....and blamed the tires. Lexus initially said 5.7 sec on 0-60 mph and revised down after all the mags road tested better. I think low fives (< 5.5 sec) is about right for most IS350s up to 60, some are likely worse (19" chromies and a box in the trunk)
