Question Will an '08 ES350 Nav DVD work in an '07 IS250?

Hey guys, one of my buddies works for a Lexus dealership and gave me a good deal on an '08 Lexus nav DVD from an '08 ES350. However I do not know if it will even work to upgrade my '07 IS250. Anyone out there know if its the same disc as what comes with the '08 IS250 models? And if not what about an '08 RX350 disc? He says he's got one of those as well that he'll sell me for the same price.

For reference the '08 ES350 disc has the following info on it:
DVD NAVIGATION MAP
NORTH AMERICA
U32
D
86271-53022
464210-0971
DATA ver.07.1

I don't think there's a difference? I think the 06 models had different software?

the 06 had different firmware, which let you do the nav override so you can put in a destination while driving, a 06/08 hybrid dvd does NOT work so i read, the nav disc is located in the glove compartment in the 2is, you have to like take out the plastic rack that holds the manual and pop open the cover.

Yea, Im still around, just driving the car more and havent been posting as much. Good to see you and technique are still around though! I knew Technique would know the answer to this question. You know whats funny too, we asked all the service center guys and a few of the techs and NONE of them could tell me if it was the same disk or not! Terrible huh?

Thanks a LOT Technique!

Check your manual, its kinda tricky to explain as its behind the clock face and is a pain to get out!

The poster means clock face.

Unless he got a special option nobody else did.

Yes it was a typo but funny catch! The CD is located behind the clock. Its a pain to access. Make sure the update is worth the hassle...

Not yet, I havent had a chance yet to slap it in there and see what it does. I have to allot some time to fussing with that dumb clock face... lol I hate that thing. I am dreading messing with it. I am always so worried Im going to scratch it really bad. Ill post back when I have done it though.

Okay, finally got to it and surprisingly the clock face came right out. I guess I just remembered what I did last time to wiggle it out and did it just right this time and it slipped right out.

Anyway, put the new disc in and it did its firmware update thing and restarted. Seems to have worked perfectly fine. It also looks like it remembers the last screen you were on when you shut off the car (which I cant recall now if it did that on the '06 or '07 version). After I got done playing with the maps a bit I turned the radio on to make double sure all my XM stations were still saved and then I turned off the car, then turned it back on to see what would come up. Well it went right into the radio. Then I pressed the Map button and it showed me the warning screen for the 5 seconds and went away just like its supposed to in the '08 version.

Now, FYI you will have to reset you region and the settings you have set from the Setup page. Other than that everything went smoothly. Hopefully Ill be fine without having a hybrid nav DVD as I really like the no "I Agree" button.
