changed mine on IS250 lease and went with G37

As in a past post I am in a position to compare both because I own both a G37 and IS250 (The IS is really my wife’s but I often drive it.) Putting aside the power issue where the G37 wins hands down, both cars have excellent build quality. My G37 is six months old now and performs perfectly.
The real difference, as I now see it, is the G37 has advanced features that are not yet available in IS’s, items like the 9.3GB hard drive where you can load over 300 CD’s, a better nav system that includes XM traffic alerts (albeit I pay extra), backup camera with extra graphics and a voice recognition system that allow easy and quick destination inputs while driving.

harping on perceived value again, I like Lexus a lot better than Infiniti.

Well, it narrows down to a matter of personal taste, if not chemistry, like choosing a spouse. I was seriously considering a new IS350 but for me the improved G37 electronics was important, and aftermarket stuff turns me off. I also preferred that coupe appearance, like my old G35. Having said that, our IS250 in Matador red is a handsome car and still turns a few heads.

Either way, for the money, G37 > IS250

The Infiniti lines are generally cheaper than Lexus. I also considered the G35 (at the time) as compared to the IS. The G35s are cheap and has all the luxury and power to match, but in the end, Toyota has the better reputation. Especially getting the G37, you saved a lot in the long run, plus it's a lot more fun to drive too.

i went in a few days ago to an infiniti dealership to check out the G37 coupe and the G35 sedan. it was one of those on-a-whim things - i was just curious how they stacked up against the 2is, as the new G35 and G37 weren't available for comparison when i purchased my 2is back in '06.
i wasn't sold on the G35 sedan; from certain angles the car seems out of proportion. it felt bigger and drove like it too - it had a lot more chassis action than the first gen G35 and the 2is. it definitely feels a step behind when pitted against the is350. while it was loaded with more technology than the 2is, it didn't seem intuitive enough...
however, the G37 was definitely an eye-catcher. i always thought the G35 coupe was a nice-looking car. it was as if infiniti took the G35 coupe, rounded off some corners here, pulled and pinched a few lines there, and ended up w/ the G37. while it was sexy on the outside, interior build quality is still nowhere near lexus. again, like its 4-door brother, the G37 coupe drove like a bigger car. however, straight-line speed is is350-like, and brake feel is actually better than the is350's four-pots. i actually liked the driving position in the G37, but it's a coupe.
should the OP trade in his is250 for the G35?
i'd say no; trade up to the is350 instead.
but should the OP trade in his is250 for the G37 coupe?
only if he prefers a coupe to a sedan.

Good to see there's still a lot of open minded IS owners that can appreciate more than just the car they own. Different cars have different pluses and minuses. I remember lots of bimmer bashing when I used to come here, now it seems like Infiniti and Lex are the new rivals.
I hope everyone enjoys their IS because I was very close to getting a 350, but the G37 was a better value and had all of the things I wanted.
