Starfire! Vs. Glacier Frost Mica!
#19
I have gfm too.. love it. It is a little common down here in texas though. someone should do a side by side shot of a '06 crystal white vs the '07/'08 starfire pearl. a night shot would probably be the best setting to see the difference.

I kind of liked the GFM IS but I got an SF IS ... so far its looks good. I'm a white lover but I saw a GFM IS at a Toyota dealer and it look sweet with like a tint of baby blue.
Anyways, I'm really happy of my choice of a Starfire IS!

I loved the look of the Glacier Frost color when I saw it first at night at the dealer. But when I saw it during the day it was a totally different color. I did not like how GFM looked during the day. GSM looked to girly for me.
So I got a Starfire Pearl instead and never looked back.

my gfm on a sunny day.
I liked GFM how it changes color depending on lighting condition. I would say this is one of the most pearls i've seen from the factory. I first saw this color on a 2006 GS430 in the lot.. shopped for a crystal white/starfire.. accidentally found an IS with my desired specs in GFM... picked it up the next day. GFM is quite rare... compared to starfire...
Also on a side note, GFM is harder to spray compared to the other whites due to the pearl... so if anything happens.. bring it to a skilled painter.

Gfm!
GFM is great in sunlight with different angles. The blue pearl hue comes out from the white of the paint. When looking at it dead on it looks more white (in sunlight). Around sunset and evening it starts to look grayish/white to silver/white. My best opinion. I was going for the typical fav of "granite" color till I saw off in the corner of my eye at the dealership this sparkling bluish/white (daytime) IS I said " woah......whats that over there"
Now it's in my driveway All I can say either you like it or don't but you have to see it in person.....for me.... I don't care for white/white. When the blue color comes out it is very unique and gives off an expensive pearl paint look.

One of the great things about GFM is that you get a truly unique color. It is pretty white in the day time with a hint of blue pearl when the sun hits it. During midafternoon, you get this beautiful gold hue to it. During sunset you get a sort of mixture between the two, it turns into almost purple pearl. And at night you get a very cool blue/silver mix.
With starfire pearl, you get, er, white. haha
