When I bought my is350 five months ago, I swear by my life that my salesman told me I can bring my car into the dealership for a car wash anytime I needed.

So, when I drove my car up to the service department and asked for a car wash, they looked at me dumbfounded. They told me the wash only came w/ service, which I already knew. But the service guy took care of me anyhow.

Should I pursue this further? I obviously have no written or verbal proof of what my sales guy told me, but I would really like to have this service if I can have it for free. And I presume my sales guy will deny this service to me.

I know it's better to wash it urself, but there are those times where you just don't feel like it :P

Thats a fairly common thing for high end cars....Just remind the salesman....

there was no problem for me at all even i brought it in just for a free car wash .my saleman did not tell me anything about a free car wash but i found out from my service guy they are very nice from where i bought my car.

Thats total BS by the dealer!!!!!!! As long as you have a lexus you are entitle to
2 free car washes per month. Its a lexus thing. Go and complain to the dealer

i just like the fact that when i wash my car, i know every detail about it. for example where water collects behind the doors and gas cap. i like to dry those areas. the little things..

+1 and for some reason above the back bumper where the trunk lid meets the bumper, I can never get all the water no matter how hard I try.

Only handwash the car myself or take to a touchless wash when in a hurry and don't care about quality of wash or dry.

I learned from mistake. On my free service I agreed to their car wash as they stated its done by hand wash only. I thought maybe I'll try it once and see how it turns out.

Got my car back few hours later and it went from a 5 months old car to a 2 years old car. I couldn't not believe the swirl marks that were left on.

I would say unless you just simply does not care about the looks of your car anymore, don't go for a free car wash. You will end up spending a lot more money and time just for that quick satisfaction of something washing your car for you.

i don't know about any other dealerships....but Lexus of Las Vegas offers free car washes to any Lexus vehicles that have been bought at the Lexus of Las Vegas dealership. The only reason they would deny it is if the lines were so backed up and the service department was closing...but even then they give you a free voucher to have your car washed at "terrible herbst owned chevron gas stations" with auto car washes and hand dry.

I myself on the other hand would only wash my car myself...but that is because of the mods and what not.

If you're okay with getting swirl marks, you might as well just wash your car with paper towels from the gas station and one of those california dusters.

I try to wash my car at home but if you're in a hurry, the best thing is go to a coin-op self serve car wash and just hose off the car at high pressure. You can even just soap up the car and then just hose it off. Of course don't use the brush, just squirt on the soap and hose off the soap. Then no need to dry, just drive fast. Especially, if you're place uses a real spot free rinse, which many places don't.
