Default Rubber things under the hood

I just noticed that I am missing one of the rubber thing (don't know the name) that prevent the hood from closing too hard. There are two piece of rubber and I am missing one of them, I believe when the dealership changed my oil a month ago messed it up. Just popped my hood today and saw one missing, where can I get another one of these rubber thing? or it doesn't matter?

Ask the dealer to replace it for free? If not you can buy it from Lexus or even the local auto parts store. Can't see that piece going for any more then 20 at the dealer.

I don't think it would be a far fetch to tell them you just opened your hood.

To be honest, I don't think a lot of Lexus drivers would go around and stare at their hood all day. (unless you are a car enthusiast like us or just feel like showing your clean interior to your friends)

Also, I would doubt that they would charge your for a minor part when you do have a valid reason to believe that the rubber was lost during oil change.

I would suggest to stop by and ask them for a spare part, shouldn't be a big deal.

I doubt very much the dealer took it off - there's no reason for them to do this. It most likely was never put on in the first place. Just ask them to install one. You shouldn't have to pay for it - not on a Lexus!

Actually I am pretty sure I have them on, I was doing the HID vertical adjustment and I know for a fact that they were there. But I was adjusting my HID again... then I found that one of them were missing. I am gonna give them a call and see what's up.

I dont' see any reasons why they took that thing off as well...

you've spent more time posting in this thread than you have trying to get your problem solved i think.

its simple, call the dealership/service place u last took the car, tell them that you think after the last service it may have been removed for some reason, if they deny it, ask how much for a replacement... then try another dealership, i'd try 3 in your area, maybe you can find one juts to do it for free and hook you up, its just a little rubber piece anyways.. if you cant, and its that big fo a deal, get it replaced

Easy problem to rectify. Just be honest and curtious and explain your case to the service rep.
