Lightbulb IS-F 19" Wheel SWAP with 2IS 18" Wheel...& Big Brake Kit test fit as well.. w/pics

So finally today we had to chance to test fit the IS-F Wheels on a IS350 and the IS350 wheels on the IS-F (for Big Brake Kit fitment)..

A Huge & Big Thanks goes to member "CrazyMPG" for allowing us to use his IS-F and of course photo skills...

For the record the IS-F oem jack is cheaper than the IS350 oem jack..

Ok so here it goes...

Starting with the IS350...

In the Front the 19x8 IS-F wheel DOES NOT clear the oem IS350 monoblock caliper... The wheel inner face touches the caliper face... SO unless I / you get a spacer or grind the caliper, there is no way to test this wheel for full fitment...

In the Rear the 19x9 IS-F wheel clears everything just fine from a visual stand point.. and bolted up with zero issues..
I could not drive my car, so that's all I can comment on that.

Enjoy the pics... each one of these thumbnails can be clicked in for a super sized picture.... !!!

Ok so now we move onto the IS-F....

The OEM 2IS 18x8 wheel will NOT clear the IS-F Brembo Front caliper.. It is just too big... It clears the rotor & dust shield just barely.. but its a NO GO to use this wheel with the IS-F Front Brakes.

Now for the rear is a different story.. The OEM 2IS 18x8.5 wheel clears the IS-F Rear brake rotor, dust shield & caliper, but just barely as well..
However, it does not touch anything and I would expect it not to during movement...
Its tight but it fits with zero issues...

Glad he was part of this in helping us figure out a lot of things today and very glad for the extra set of hands for this swap / test fit !!!!

BTW - anything you set wet was due to some passing Heavy T-Storms and we had some hail too... yeah...!!!

Now I'll leave you with some front brake comparo pics...

aw man that really sucks. it seems like the front was so close to fitting stock 18" , i woulda thought the rotor wouldnt fit, that sucks, i wish the caliper was too thick so a simple spacer could make it fit, but it seems like their too wide. thanks for doing this write up joe, i think it answers alota questions once and for all. i just wish the fronts woulda fit, or the fit be way off so i could let go of that dream of IS-F BBK's.

wow, thats interesting, the is-f rim WONT clear the 350 front brake AND the oem 350 18's WONT clear the is-f front brake... not only is that weird but its kinda funny. I wonder if the F-sport rim will clear the is-f front brake?

That sucks because those wheels look awesome on a gray IS350. Like somebody mentioned... would putting a spacer on the front allow the wheel to clear the caliper since as you say "The wheel inner face touches the caliper face"?

Joe Z, great right up and very informative. BTW were you able to determine if the cooling vanes in the rotor follow the same direction as the cross-drilling? There was a big question about that in an earlier thread. It's apparent that the cross drilling is not directional, how about the vanes? The pics look like the vanes are NOT directional which would be kind of a big joke to the European enthusiasts. Just one more thing for the Bimmer guys to laugh at.
Heck, even the IS350 rotors are directional!

So my guess is that the IS-F rims will work for the IS250?
