Default DUDES! I've got that start up rattle,(?)

Not every time , but when starting my IS rt @ pt after initial start therer's a slight rattle but like it's roling it's r's, (machine gun-like but quiet). WTF!? Beuller? Anyone ?

i have the same problem some times.. its only the first time though. i try to turn off the car and turn it on again it doesnt make the sound...

is it from the needles on the gauges? mine has that.

There is a TSIB to repair this condition by replacing the VVTi cam gears. Go give your local Lexus dealer a visit

What year IS's does this issue effect? 06? 07? 08? I haven't noticed this noise, but I am going to start listening more closely for it at start up.

just came back from the dealer.. for this TSIB and the brake TSIB.. car goes in on wed... ill let u guys know if it gets fixed or not !

I had the start up rattle for a few months last winter 06-07, I even had it scheduled to get fixed. Well, it went away and hasen't happened for a year (fingers crossed).

Default No rattle @ all 2day !?

I've started my IS @ least 12 times and no rattle. I'm 2 days over due on my oil change, I wonder if old oil is a symptom.

No. If your VIN falls in the affected range, and you've heard the noise, then you need the fix. It's that simple.
