Default Aftermarket Amp Install Issues

I tried doing my install last night following this how-to and I've had a few hang ups. Ive got power, but no sound.

1. There is 4 harnesses that plug into the factory amp. Starting from the side closest to the front of the car: a small one with 4 wires, a bigger one with about 9 wires, a skinny one with smaller gauge wires that seems irrelevant, and then another big one with about 9 or 10 wires. Which is the correct harness to tap into for the front woofers and factory sub? This is non-ML btw.

2. I used the same Scosche LOC from Wal-Mart thats featured in the how-to. Did you have to mess with any of the gains or adjustments on that?

3. My amp always stays on so obviously I tapped into the wrong power lead for the remote wire. I was assuming it was the orange wire on that first harness with 4 wires but I guess this isn't the case?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I was up till 2:30am last night trying to get this done only to have nothing to show for it. Thanks!

I forgot which one. I can take a look during lunch, but I believe it's the skinnest orange wire closest to the rear.

There was a post somewhere here that said the color of the 4 wires to tap into on the non-ML amp. All 4 wires are on the same harness. If I recall correctly, It was the second one with 9 wires. I could be wrong though.

Today, I will not be home until late. If you want, send me a PM and you can call me tomorrow after 5 and I can take a look for you and tell you what wires I spliced into and which harness.

I spliced the remote wire from a fuse box under the glove box.

Here you go for the remote.

Run it to the fuse box under the glove box. That's what I did.

if you are using tap-in's for bigger wires say like 12 or 14 gauge, it wont work cause its not really splicing through the wire to tap-in. since the skinny orange wire is so skinny u need a 16 or 18 gauge tap-in

I tried that really really skinny orange one thats with the other skinny wires and the amp kept cutting out so I figured it wasn't the right one.
