You should be fine filling up everyday but what is really the benefits? I would just get in the habit of filling up at half tank if i were not want to pay for a full tank. You'll be paying half the price and saving half the time...

Is the gas station clerk that hot that you want to go there everyday?

Seriously, ask yourself if you need to fill it up everyday in the first place.

Joe,

I hope you have the Shell Platinum Master Card (Free). With the card you get 5% back on all gas purchases.

I think this is why the OP fills up everyday. And to think the only two sates in the US were Oregon and Jersey for full service!!!

Mentally, its not okay =)

I will go out on a limb and say YES, its bad for your car. At pumps which have 1 pump for 3 or 4 different fuel grades, you will get about 1/3 gallon of the previous cars selected gas. If you are only putting in 2 gallons, 1/3-1/2 a gallon will probably be 87 octane.

So in effect you are ripping yourself off and lowering your gasoline octane.

You also risk spilling gas onto your paint everyday.

I almost always wait until E on my 3000GT, I have put 19.2gallons in the car before(tank is 19.8). The GT now has 195K miles on the original Fuel pump and engine.

Anyone who worries about their wallet at the gas pump has no business driving a Lexus. Unless you drive less, you are spending the same amount on gas, whether you fill up all the time (neurotic) or just put a few dollars in to get it off E (yea, that was me in high school). Gas is still cheap in the States at $3.50. Are people really driving less? There are plenty of cars on the road driving like there's no tommorow. Now the rest of the world wants as many cars per driver as we have. We're all F'd.

Unless you enjoy driving your full tank of gas all over town, ease off the filling station.

I think people are running out of ideas to ask in CL.

I don't see how it would be bad for the car, but I certainly see it as unnecessary, or "retarded" as some would say it.

I usually keep mine over the half mark.
It reduces condensation in the winter time and the weight of the gas helps
the car sit a little lower.

I always fill up when I hit a bit under the 1/4 tank. Dump a bottle of Lucas, and fill my tank. But, that's just me.

-I highly doubt that filling your tank everyday is going to do any harm, I'm sure they would have placed a label there telling you to only fuel up at a certain reading. BUT, in the long run, you are spending more money.

Dude... it sounds like you are doing this for a money reasons but that makes absolutely zero sense...

If you fill up 5 times a week for $10, that's still $50 a week. Why not just go a week and fill up once for $50?? I'm assuming the money is coming out of the same location, no? Save yourself the time and hassle. $50 bucks is $50 bucks, regardless of whether it is split up over 5 days or all at once... I just don't get the reasoning behind that.
