Default I put gas in EVERYDAY is that ok?

Lately i have been putting gas in everyday to keep at at "full" all the time. So everyday at the end of the day, i would put in like $7-$10 so that it would stay full all the time. I dont want to wait like 4 days and put in $50 at once. However i was wondering if this is bad for your car. thx

probably costs you more in the long run cuz it weighs more lol

i could never do something like this, im way too lazy. It would take some major OCD like tendencies to fill up a gas tank every single day. You must be best friends with the employees of your local gas station.

I don't see any problems, its when you go below a half tank is when you run into problems.

Your method keeps your fuel pump (not sure if its submerged in the tank on Toyota products) from overheating and failing. Also if you live in really cold climates, this keeps condensation from building up and eventually freezing your lines.

Yeah, I've always heard never let your needle go below 1/2 tank , if possible.

It's supposed to help your fuel pump stay cooler so it doesn't wear as quickley. Personally, I refill when there's about 1/3 tank left. Or if something like Katrina happens and the prices are supposed to go up 10 cents when the stock market opens, I'll fill up a little early.

I almost always fill up my cars when the fuel light turns on. I've yet to own a car that didn't last for well over 100k miles and never had an issue with the pump. Keep those myth's coming boys. It's when you let your tank run almost completely dry that causes more wear on the pump. Half a tank is MORE then plenty.

And filling up $7-10 every day? That sounds just a bit retarded IMO. What would you do if you went on a road trip. Pull over every $40 miles and fill up? It won't hurt your car but it certainly isn't a very efficient use of your time.

I usually get gas every 2.5 weeks. I wait till I drive 20 miles past ZERO on the Approx mile gauge.

I don't like getting gas as you can see.
