Default Early '09?

Anyone know when orders can be placed for an early '09 IS? I've called 2 dealers and they claim they don't know, but I'm not sure if that's true or if they just want to push '08 inventory on the lot.

IIRC, end of June/early July was when dealers started talking about 08's last year.

Try mid July. I asked my dealer last year because I was thinking about an 07 last summer. They told if I waited until late July early August, they would give me some info on ordering an 08. I decided to wait around Christmas time for their winter sales event.

If you're going to get an '09,you may be better off waiting for an '10.
Might be a new body style.

I think IS a is 5 year model. Like the old IS is 5 years. I don;t want to see the 2IS to only have 5 years

Why not get one now?

Or, get a 2010, 2011, or even a 2012.

Exactly. Expecting 1 year for major changes is unlikey since 09 is most likey a refresh, Its like waiting for a Apple product.

Your going to wait forever because your afraid its going to be replaced any day..

I sincerely hope Toyota goes 5 years on the gen 2 at least. It cost a ton of money design and produce a new model. Forget the first model year as well. It use to be that these Lexus models were introduced a year earlier in Japan and this allowed for some bugs to be ironed out. Now, the US basically obtains these new models within the same year. I bet the future facelift for the gen 2's will be a completely newer rim design and possibly the cleared tails. Something small but notceable is what car compnaies like to do, it keeps costs down but makes the car still appealing.

i hate how apple does that... *****es.
They need to just update everything rather than doing 1 update at a time.

(I really want a macbook but the POS doesnt have LED backlit screen or a lit keyboard.)

To OP: yea they probably don't know anything... most dealerships know less than most of the people on this forum. Id say end of summer is when you should expect anything.
