From what I understand and experience of PWR mode, it wouldn’t effect a quarter mile at all or any way. I run pwr most the time and there’s a major difference between it and standard. Mostly that when you *brake* or *slow down* it keeps the RPM's up longer. For example, you slap the brake pedal pretty hard and with pwr mode it will shift down and bring the RPM's up sooner.

I would suspect if people are saying pwr affects actual dragging, the effect they are feeling has nothing to do with it being set to “pwr”.

So in effect, if you were dragging a quarter with pwr on or off in which you went from 0 to 100 and then slammed the brakes to 50 and then back up to 100, pwr mode would perform better.

More so, if you are on an actual track with lots of turns and fast acceleration changes, pwr mode would be keeping you in lower gears and higher rpm's like you would be with a manual. It would perform much better.

Ive run tests with my pwr mode on and off with full tanks of gas with no real difference in my mpg.

do you do primarily highway driving in power mode? There is a clear difference in MPG - it is lower when you use PWR.

Anyone else have an opinion on 0-60 or 1/4 mile times with and without PWR? I would imagine it wouldn't make a difference, or PWR is faster, but definitely not slower. i haven't tested it yet.

The only times I don't use it is in the winter time and at the dragstrip.

That I understand, but when PWR mode with an automatic, it makes the throttle more sensitive as well.

I've had my 350 a few months now, never really had a need for the pwr button. If I need more pwr I just MASH the gas pedal!

I used it when I want to jet off the line . It seems more responsive to less pedal input, but that could be my imagination. I find it increases throttle response, and seems to do engine breaking, as others have mentioned.

I was playing around with the paddle shifters tonight on the way home. Letting the engine rev up a bit. I don't really like the lag between shifts, but it seemed after a bit of use I was adjusting to it....

Probably use it a total of about 10% of the time. I do not used it enough to gage gas mileage. Which is about 23mpg on a tank right now, on my ~500mi/week commute.

i practically never use mine. I've used it probably a hand full of times when merging onto the freeway.

I wont dispute it here since this isn't the right thread for it. But it has been proven that better 1/4 mile time are achievable in normal.

Gernby spitting shift point knowledge, use Normal!
