Default sound dampened my trunk!

i know the tanabe is quiet and all but sometimes i wished it was stock quiet while driving on the highway.

so i went ahead and did this... it took about 2.5-3hrs

start

half way through

i realized i forgot to take the end picture after all the panels were back in.

but all in all im happy with the results. but now i think im going crazy and here my more road noise from the front floors. lol

I did that to pretty much the entire trunk. I used 1 layer of mat and 2 layers of the liquid one.

liuqid, how does that work, is it a spray, do you brush it on? is it for the crevices and hard to mat areas?

The one I used comes in a paint bucket. You lay it on with a brush. There are others that you can spray as well, but I've never used those.

To be honest, I couldn't really notice a difference. I did it because I have a 15" sub woofer in the trunk and didn't want my car to rattle like on of those old Cutlass that sound like they are falling apart.

yes... my trunk is very solid. the only thing rattling now is the gas lid and the llicense plate a little bit. both pretty easy fixes.

theres a little black nipple that u can see when u open the lid. I think that's where the problem is. should be able to fix it with a small piece of rubber.

Does either the liquid or the matt add weight to the car?
