just heard back from the dealer. said that the electronic rack and pinion failed. had to order the part. what exactly is that and i wonder how much it costs? even though it's covered under warranty. said they had never had this happen on a car before at their dealership, so i hope this is an isolated incident and not something that will be common on the is in the future.
