I don't need the extra power and figured I'd rather save extra money so I got the 250.

i wanted a 350, but i had a couple of problems...
1- money: couldnt afford it with my university life style, becuse the base PKG on is350 is not that good, it has a lot of things but u still need to get at least on pkg extra!
2- Gas: i live in suburban area but i work downtown and my university is also pretty far (25km away one-way!!!) so, i do major traveling... im kinda worried about the 20,000 KM per year limit!!!
3- insurance: i live in Canada, and insurance is kinda expensive to begin with, and i totaled a car 3 years ago, when i was 17!!! so my insurance is pretty high!!!
4- i had to go in waiting list for the color i wanted on a 350 and it was inconvenient for me to wait that long....

however, i have 250 RWD, and nav option, does not come with it, at least thats what the dealer told me!! but im happy with it for now, ive only had it for 3 dayz and honestly i thought i would be downgrading from an AUDI to LEXUS.. but no, its pretty much right up there beside AUDI... but i havent reved it yet because im waiting for it to break in....

got the 250 for awd. If I lived in say florida or a lower state I would have easily gotten the 350. I sometime regret getting the 250 but I love my car regardless. Plus I dont race so whats the extra 102hp gonna do for me.

I wanted a nice car, something classy as I am no longer in the Integra type R days of age, so a luxury yet sporty cars to impress the ladies... jk

Something that looks nice, handles nice, drives pretty quick (compare to my 4 banger Teg LS), and under 35k (but looks more expensive). My friend in class was like "WTF you wanna lower your car for, arent you broke yet after spending 70k on a lexus?" LOL

That basically narrowed it down to the mb300 sport, audi A4, lexus IS, and the bmw 328 sedan.

Now I hated the bmw styling on the 3 sedan (minus the m3 sedan), the mb I liked all the way till I got inside of it, the audi I actually almost put a down on it, then I when I went to the dealer to see how much I can get a bone stock 350 for (and to give lexus a chance before I buy the audi), then I found myself a nice half-ly loaded awd 250 for a very good price and I bought it right then and there, and its NJ, it snows, its a pita to drive cuz the snow removal system sucks, so I never looked back since

also may I add that the exact interior, exterior color combo and options were the ones I was looking for? Right time at the right place

Will still buy the 250. I work 11 miles one way on a very congested freeway. 350 or 250 will reach work almost the same time.

Just like what Liz said I don't need the extra power so I used the $$ difference to mod my car.

Bought a 250 last month. Never test drove the 350 but I felt that the 250's power was adequate enough for me. I could of afforded the 350 but I decided to take the difference in money to mod my car.

better on gas, also, most importantly, AWD for the Canadian weather.

For me i didnt have any choices. But if i did have the choices, i'd still go with 250. Wouldn't want to be paying more fuel for nothing, no need for more power as speed can only get me in trouble. No need to pay extra for what i want out of the car, the experience of owning a Lexus, the cruise in comfort and looks.

1) Power - 300 horses is the lowest I will go... I don't care about the cost of fuel being $4.20 (it only means I will spend about 700-900$ each year more on gasoline than if it was in the low $3 which is nothing compared to how much my insurance went up haha)...my next car is going to have 400-500 horsepower =)
2)Bigger brakes- i need not say more

I chose the IS250 because it was more economical for me. I commute a lot and gas was a concern. Also the reason why I chose the IS is because it looks pretty hot. I'm single too so I don't mind it being a little cramped. It fits me just fine.

Another reason, it's not that expensive overall compared to the higher end models. Plus, the IS just looks better compared to the rest in my opinion.

I got the 250 mostly because of price.. I know I should have saved up money since I just graduated college last year. It doesn't help that being a teacher = small pay.

I would have gotten the 350 if Hawaii had more than one Lexus dealership. I'm so envious that you mainland bro's get to pit the dealerships against each other in order to get a better price. It's a bummer for me that some of you guys got a 350 at the same price or a little more than I got my 250. But I know that if I want a car like this and in the place I live... gotta deal!

Hey, a teacher? I use to do that. What's your starting salary over there? Here in California, it's around $48,000 a year.
